ONE of the best annual exhibitions on the arts calendar is the Green Door Studios show.
Running at Grasmere Village Hall until Saturday, October 16, a sample of the towering talents of the Kendal-based studio artists are there for all to see.
More than 40 artists are featured, including Lara Clahane, Jill Pemberton, Richard Light, Karen Lloyd, Thuline De Cock, Paul Clark, Catherine MacDiarmid, Rachel Greenbank, Ian Royle and Frances Winder as well as new members such as David Fulford and Liz Johnson. The show is open from 10am-5pm, Monday-Saturday, Sunday 11am-4pm.
Meanwhile, GDS artists are working alongside years 5/6 students from Grasmere Primary School in the hall's exhibition space this week as part of the national Big Draw, using the exhibition as a stimulus for their own creative efforts.
The collaboration continues at school with the artistic results joining the Green Door exhibition from tomorrow (Saturday). The children's work will also be on show at Kendal's Brewery Arts Centre in December.
