GOOD to see the excellent Quondam theatre company performing in South Lakeland again, this time with BBC writer David Napthine's new play Top Banana.
Quondam founder Andy Booth's innovative outfit plays Kendal's Brewery Arts Centre on Tuesday, October 19 (8pm) in an hilarious and thought-provoking satire on the selling of New Labour's soul.
In a reworking of the Faust legend, the devil sports many looks from sequins and stilettos to power suits, and it stars Fine Time Fontayne, one of Britain's leading character actors, who appeared alongside Julie Walters and Brenda Blethin in Girls Night, as well as stints in The Bill, Eastenders and Coronation Street.
Andy says Top Banana is a fantastic and clever play: "There's a gem in every line and it promises a great night out for everyone of us living in a time dominated by focus groups and added value'."
Tickets are £9.50/ concessions £8.50 and are available from the box office on 01539-725133.
