MICHAEL Revers is an extremely talented watercolour artist and celebrates 25 years as a painter with a Silver Jubilee exhibition at the Ladyholme Community Centre, Lake Road, Windermere, on Saturday and Sunday, October 16/17.
The Rochdale-based artist trained in art and design at Rochdale College of Art and worked as a graphic designer in industry and in private practice and also lectured on the subject at Salford Technical College.
During a quarter-of-a-century as a professional artist, his limited editions and originals have been collected both here and overseas.
Early work included attractive pencil sketches and animal studies but he soon found he had an affinity for watercolours, a technique which enables him to express his love for the natural elements found in landscape, particularly the Lake District.
The watercolour style is representational in approach, combining his artistic gift and extraordinary attention to detail.
His recent exhibitions have shown a diversity of style and talent - from the timberline in Vermont, to the St Bris poppy fields in France; to the island of Capri.
