FIFTY voices of Cumbria Baroque Choir, featuring members of Kendal Madrigal Singers and invited vocalists from all over the North West, join together for what promises to be one of the great choral performances of the year.
Staged at Kendal Parish Church on Saturday, October 2 (7.30pm), it centres on the whole of Bach's exciting and magnificent Mass in B Minor.
Originally the dream of the choir's director Margaret Pattinson, the massive work will be conducted by another well-known and respected figure in the region's music circles, Hugh Davies.
Hugh is really passionate about Bach's piece and excited at staging the concert, which he says fulfils one of his lifelong ambitions.
The distinguished players of the Northern Chamber Orchestra provide accompaniment with a powerful and accomplished line-up of soloists billed - David Sheringham (counter-tenor), Joshua Ellicott (tenor), Kenneth Burgess (bass) alongside thrilling soprano Philippa Hyde.
Tickets are £10 with group and family discounts available.
