THE Lakes Summer Gospel Choir performs in aid of the New Beginnings charity at Kendal's Stricklandgate Methodist Church on Saturday, September 18 (7pm). The choir was founded in 2003 and led by Robin and Michael Perris of Storth and performs a compilation of gospel songs throughout the summer months with around 50 members from all across South Lakeland. The choir's lively and inspirational programme is the Be Glad series originally performed by New York's Brooklyn Tabernacle.
ULVERSTON Society of Artists stages its Charter Exhibition at the supper room of the Coronation Hall from Tuesday until Friday, September 17 (9am-5pm) as well as Saturday, September 18 (9am-4pm). Watercolours, oils, pastels and acrylics plus craftwork and embroidered pictures feature in the show with a percentage of proceeds donated to local charities.
