MUSIC fans with a desire to learn about all aspects of the music business are being sought to help discover the U2 and Oasis bands of the future.
Music Links and Generator have teamed up to form Cumbrio, a touring network of unsigned bands in Cumbria and they are looking for two new promoters to learn the ropes of music promotion over the next 12 months.
The scheme revolves around eight venues with promoters organising gigs and encouraging bands at various locations in the county and they are looking for two new young promoters to cover the Workington and Whitehaven areas.
Music Links Development Officer Andrew Halsey said: "As well as developing performance skills for bands, we want to increase the amount of people who are capable of organising gigs and learn about the behind-the-scenes activity of the live music scene."
The new promoters will be fully trained by an experienced promoter in areas such as arranging PA, lighting and publicising gigs.
For details, call Andy Halsey on 01539-735083 or email jim@generator.org.uk by August 19, 2004.
