House masters set for town gig.
DYNAMIC dance duo and former free party promoters Inland Knights are preparing to play in Kendal.
DJs, producers, remixers and label-owners Laurence Ritchie and Andy Riley take to the top floor at Mint tomorrow.
Former protagonists of the 90s free party scene, the pair helped to organise renegade events across the British countryside before the Criminal Justice Act put paid to their alfresco antics.
Five years on from their first release, the house masters' blend of jazz and funk, dynamic percussion and vocal hooks has catapulted them to international popularity, seeing them take global jaunts to the likes of Amnesia in Ibiza, Dance Valley in Holland and London's Fabric.
Warming up for the deep house duo, who have remixed for the likes of Faithless, will be local DJ Tom Townley and Andy Bone while Dan Newby plays funk + house downstairs.
Despite their success as producers, the pair refuse to retreat to the studio, preferring to balance performing and production.
"If you do too much of one," explained Riley, "You start to miss the other."
Entry to Mint is free before 11pm.
