SOUNDS of brass will echo round the Victoria Hall, Grange, tomorrow (Saturday), when Flookburgh Band perform a special concert to help raise funds for The Children's Society.
Under the direction of John Iveson, the band will tour the wide repertoire of the modern brass band.
Major items include Shosta-kovich's scintillating Festival Overture and an up-tempo version of Bach's famous Toccata, a perennial favourite.
With the 60th anniversary of D-Day next month, the band will play its own tribute with the immortal Dam Busters march.
The programme also includes show music and modern arrangements while cornet soloist Tony Rowlandson will play Softly Wakes my Heart and euphonium soloist Raymond Robinson the lyrical Welsh melody Myfanwy.
Ticket cost £6.50 and are available on the door. The concert starts at 7.30pm.
