The BREWERY'S Steinway Suppers continue on Wednesday, May 19 (8pm) with renowned pianist Noriko Ogawa, one of Japan's hottest exports, taking to the Kendal arts centre's stage.
Noriko records regularly for the BBC as recitalist and soloist, gives chamber recitals and appears with the major UK orchestras.
Her latest series for BIS Records is the complete solo works for piano by Debussy. Volumes one and two won the Editor's Choice in the March 2003 edition of Gramophone Magazine and received great acclaim world over, increasing her profile as a Debussy expert.
Noriko was discovered at the 1987 Leeds International Pianoforte Competition where she won the third prize. She has since achieved considerable renown in Europe, America and in her native Japan where she is a national celebrity.
The programme features works by Debussy, Prokofiev and Schumann-Liszt.
