IT TOOK just two days for The Wisemen of Lancaster to take a metaphorical trip to the country and record a new, limited release mini-album, but you would never tell.
With a somewhat unusual combination of autoharp, mandolin, fiddle and harmonica, the eight down-home songs, influenced by musical legends including Hank Williams, Johnny Cash and the Everley Brothers, take in bluegrass and country blues and are a temporary flit away from the usual electric rock.
The mini-album costs £4 and is available at Wisemen gigs (the next of which is at the Yorkshire House, in Lancaster, on Saturday, February 28) or by e-mailing thewisemen@easy.com.
