A NEW night for fledgling musicians left a country pub packed out as guitar-wielding youngsters took to the stage.
The one-off Young Musicians' Night event at The Plough Inn, Selside, looks set to become a monthly date in every young musician's diary with another night planned for January 16.
Organiser of the informal session Russell Brown said he had been very pleased with the night, which saw six young bands perform.
"It all went very well, it was a great night," he said. "If we can keep the support going that we saw on Friday we'd like to make it a monthly event. Everybody enjoyed themselves and loads of people asked if we were doing it again."
The night saw everything from 70s covers and punk to original material and Russell said he would be happy to see an even more diverse selection of musicians coming forward.
Young musicians who want to know more about the music night at The Plough should call Russell Brown on 01539-823310.
