ALTERNATIVE pop rockers Quench will be stopping off at The Lakes School, Troutbeck Bridge, as part of their debut tour.
Formed from the ashes of rock outfit WHY, the band which stepped on to the Christian music scene as Quench in April 2001 are poised to take to the school stage on November 28.
The performance by the band, who have played at both the Spring Harvest and Greenbelt festivals, has been secured by Windermere and Ambleside Churches Together.
Ian Thompson of WACT, who has helped secure the band’s performance, said the Christian group was keen to “put on something for young people.” “We have seen a lot of bands playing in cities like Manchester and we realised that not all young people can get to Manchester so we decided to bring the music to them”.
Mr Thompson said he hoped the band, who released their debut album Afterglow earlier this year and are signed to ICC’s Elevation label, would attract youngsters from across the Lake District.
Anyone who is interested in going along to the gig, which starts at 7.30pm, should call 015394-445607. Tickets cost £3.
