WORD from Kendal Amateur Operatic Society is that this year's show will be Lerner and Loewe's Brigadoon, the tale of a mysterious Scottish island that only appears once every 100 years.
Running from November 6-10 at Kendal Town Hall, it tells of two American tourists who, lost in the Highlands, stumble upon the enchanted isle just as a wedding is about to start - and their arrival has serious implications for its inhabitants.
Meanwhile, back in the real world, KAOS producer Kerry Hartin landed the best choreographer award 2006 at the North West National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) Awards ceremony at Blackpool, for her work on last year's Carousel production.
Chris Hardman, who played Mr Snow in the same show, was one of eight nominees in the best supporting actor in a musical category, but alas, did not pick up the award.
KAOS secretary Joan Carnaffin tells me a party of 12 attended the grand operatic bash to support the nominees and a good time was had by all.
