Music management, records and publishing will be the hot topics at a special music industry seminar in Carlisle next week (February 28 and March 1) at The Cumbria Institute Of Arts.
Speakers at the two-day event will include Simple Minds' former manager Robert White, the man now in charge of The Futureheads and the Proclaimers, and the brains behind Coldplay's website, Debs Wild.
Wild, an A&R supremo who currently works for Anti and Epitaph Records (home to million selling punk act Rancid), will also be on hand to listen and comment on demos that any local bands, singers or songwriters fancy taking along.
Anyone interested in attending is urged to apply as soon as possible and those who complete the 2-days and produce a small portfolio of work will walk away with a Level 2 NVQ through the Open College Network.
