FOLK icon Ashley Hutchings and his colourful sidekicks the Rainbow Chasers will kick off their 2007 tour with an eagerly anticipated slot at Kendal's Brewery Arts Centre tonight (Friday).
The founding member of Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and The Albion Band, the inspirational Hutchings - who has also composed for the National Theatre and last year scooped the Good Tradition Award at the Radio 2 Folk awards - will play to fans in the Malt Room along with the trio of talented young musicians, he took under his wing for the acclaimed album "Some Colours Fly".
If you're familiar with his work, or are searching for proof that he's still the top of his game, you won't be disappointed.
For tickets (from £8.50) for the 8.30pm gig, call the Box Office on 01539-725133.
