One of the undoubted concert triumphs of this past year was the comeback tour of the legendary duo Simon and Garfunkel.
It was billed as the Old Friends' tour named after one of their songs but also rather ironic considering their well-documented bust-ups over the years.
The Old Friends' tour was the odd couple's first shows together in 20 years and the event has now been recorded and released as both a CD and a DVD which are a must have' for all their fans.
The 25-track double CD contains performances of many of Simon and Garfunkel's most famous songs including I Am A Rock', Scarborough Fair', Homeward Bound', Mrs. Robinson', Bridge Over Troubled Water' and The Boxer'.
For collectors, the album includes a version of Bye Bye Love' with the Everly Brothers (special guests of Simon and Garfunkel throughout the tour) and a bonus track, Citizen Of The Planet' a song originally written by Paul Simon in the early Eighties but never recorded until Art Garfunkel added vocals especially for this release.
The album also includes liner notes by acclaimed music journalist David Wild.
Old Friends: Live On Stage' encapsulates the musical influence and creativity of Simon and Garfunkel as songwriters, performers and, above all, musicians.
