BUDDING young scribes still have time to pen a short piece of descriptive prose, a poem or a monlogue and enter the 2011 Anne Pierson Award for young writers.
The theme for this year is Home, and as well as the £400 first prize, £200 for each of the two runners up and a £20 book token for each of the 20 shortlisted candidates, the Brewery Arts Centre has announced an additional Friends' prize of £200 for most promising newcomer.
The closing date is December 31. Application forms are available from the Kendal venue’s box office.
