IN THIS pictorial journey through some of England’s finest landscape, Dent artist John Cooke has reproduced more than 60 of his paintings - work which the broadcaster Melvyn Bragg describes in the foreword as having a ‘meticulous quality’.
The scenes depicted range from manmade subjects such as Artengill Viaduct and Dent Station to natural landscapes like the Langdale Pikes and Loughrigg Tarn.
They were executed following walks, climbs and cycle rides undertaken by the artist over a number of years.
The former teacher has been painting for 44 years and this collection is a true testament to his talent.
PAINTINGS OF THE LAKE DISTRICT AND DENTDALE, John Cooke, Authorhouse, £18.50.
