SANDRA Glover's latest novel is another well-crafted and gripping effort, which like many of the Milnthorpe author's previous reads, twists and turns and has the potential to make a great transition into a television script.
My Spooky Sister is aimed at the age seven-plus readers and is one of those I-can't-put-it-down mysteries - even for an adult.
It tells the story of Tom's sister Alice, who, according to Tom, is weird. He still loves her but he's bothered by her strange ramblings particularly the freaky nightmares.
The family doctor says she has a vivid imagination, but Alice's mutterings about a murder and the fact she's really called Alison unnerve Tom and his parents. Especially when they end up in Scarborough on holiday and a blast from the past sends the family reeling.
Published in paperback by Anderson Press, price £4.99.
