A NEW book by Gazette walks writer Mary Welsh and Christine Isherwood sets out 40 walks exploring the Deeside, Donside and Angus areas of Scotland, just south of Aberdeen.
Each of the walks, between one-and-a-half and 14 miles, is set out in easy to follow point-by-point directions around enchantingly-named places such as Creag Choinnich, Knock Saulwood and Glen Tanar and the Fungle Road.
The text also offers plenty of information on the areas' fascinating history and wildlife including pine martens and tree-creepers and there are dozens of charming illustrations drawn by the authors themselves.
Walking Deeside, Donside and Angus is published by Clan Books at £6.99.
