Set in the ancient beauty of the Gilpin Valley, with 72
acres of private woodland and beautiful tarn, this traditional inn takes its
name from the local legend of Sir Richard de Gilpin who bravely fought and
killed a ferocious wild boar close by.
However, its fame these days has much more to do with the
warmest of welcomes and standard of service complemented by individually
designed rooms, and the Grill & Smokehouse and the open kitchen offering more
theatre to the overall dining experience.
Head Chef Marc Sanders will proudly display his commitment
to the best locally produced seasonal ingredients.
Some of the bedrooms boast features such as copper baths
and log fires.
Guests can enjoy full complimentary use of our sister
hotel’s extensive leisure complex, at Low Wood Bay, which boasts a feature pool,
indoor spa bath and outdoor hot tub, steam room, sauna, solarium, fitness suite,
squash court and beauty salon.
