I thought we would mix it up a little this week with a wonderful award-winning local tipple.
Bedrock Gin was created by Vince Wilkins and Tim Moor of Keswick and is crafted from natural gin botanicals, Ennerdale spring water and dried oak bark.
The unique water, which is very low in sodium and nitrates, gives the gin a zesty smell and citrus finish while the addition of the aged local bark helps to calm the potency that gives the gin its smooth finish.
Obviously a gin and tonic would be a classic way to enjoy this wonderful liquid, but for the more adventurous among us try muddling six mint leaves, adding 25 ml of gin, a dash of sugar syrup, lemon juice and ice, shake and strain serving in a Martini glass; add a touch of soda for a longer drink if preferred.
Available from Windermere Wine Stores priced £24.99 for 70cl.
