IT’S back to the grape this week with a wonderful red Vina Maipa Reserva 2012 shiraz, that is kind on your pocket and your taste buds.
This Chilean red is produced in the Central Valley where hot days and cooler evening provide the perfect soil for syrah grape production.
As we have come to expect with New World wines this shiraz possesses a heady mix of sweet and sticky spices and is full bodied and aromatic, with rich chocolate and vanilla aromas and subtle toasted blackberry notes to finish.
As the brighter weather and spring feel arrives we paired this with home-made meatballs, it would be a great match for roasted meat or if your brave enough to rely on the weather, barbecue a steak as the charcoal hints will match the spiced flavours perfectly.
This corker is half price from Morrisons at £4.49 per bottle.
