A BOLTON-le-Sands Indian restaurant has beaten off fierce competition to secure the title of the North West's best Asian eatery in a prestigious competition.
The Far Pavilion restaurant, on Bye Pass Road, was first selected by Morecambe and Lunesdale MP David Morris, as his favourite eastern food provider.
It then went forward against 75 other restaurants in the annual Newby Teas Tiffin Cup, where judges named it regional champion.
Haroon Begh, proprietor and director of the eatery said: "I think it is the only South Asian restaurant in the area but it is still nice to be selected for the national finals. We have been here for 23 years and have received awards before for the best Indian restaurant.
"All we can do now is continue what we are doing and do it well and hopefully there will be similar accolades in the future."
The restaurant will now go forward to the grand final in London this spring.
