CELEBRATING success in The Westmorland Gazette's annual Eatery of the Year' competition this week was the Kendal Arms on Milnthorpe Road.
Proprietors Trudi and Paul Duar captured an amazing 41 per cent of the reader vote in the competition, which is now in its third year.
The winners' trophy was presented by Gazette Leisure' section head Sarah Wheildon (left) to the delighted Duars who had proudly posted their success around the pub with the legend: "We've won!"
Runner-up in the competition was popular Kirkland eatery Eclectic, which took 19 per cent of the vote.
The winning reader vote for the Kendal Arms came from Alan Dent, of Kendal, who receives a meal to the value of £25 at the pub.
