Sweet-toothed customers at Kendal's Stonecross Manor Hotel and Restaurant have an award-winner preparing their desserts.
She is 29-years-old Lisa Spink who was recently named Kendal College's pastry chef of the year' following her year-long course in advanced patisserie and confectionery.
The accolade is just the latest in a list of credits earned by Lisa including diplomas, City & Guilds, and NVQs. Originally from Blackburn, she trained at Blackpool and Fylde College and worked at the renowned Inn at Whitewell, in Lancashire, before joining the team at Stonecross Manor seven years ago.
Saying she draws her culinary inspiration from her mum and her nana, Lisa is responsible for bread, biscuits and chocolates at the hotel as well as designing all the sweet menus. She told Food and Drink she hasn't any particular ambition to own her own restaurant - "I just enjoy cooking".
