THERE were cheesey grins all round this week as the Aspatria-based Lake District Creamery celebrated another clutch of awards.
The creamery lifted gold in both the truckle and the mature white cheddar categories at the prestigious Royal Welsh Show, as well as also picking up a silver in the truckle category and a bronze in the mild white cheddar section.
The four Welsh awards topped off a great ten days for the creamery after the cheddar had won two bronze awards at the Great Yorkshire Show.
The team has already scooped a gold, five silvers and a bronze at the Royal Highland Show; three silvers and a bronze at the Cheshire Show and a silver at the Devon County Show, bringing their tally for the year so far to 18 awards.
