WHERE better to celebrate the champion beers of Britain than at the Britannia Inn?
The Elterwater hostelry’s festival of beer, which starts today (Friday) and runs until Sunday, November 23, offers a feast of CAMRA’s top ales from the past 25 years, among them Ringwood Old Thumper (1988), Woodforde’s Norfolk Nog (1992) and Mordue Workie Ticket (1997).
Home-brewed Coniston Bluebird Bitter is also on the menu – the top ale in 1998.
The 17th century Britannia Inn (pictured above) only has five pumps so the cellar manager has carefully planned a contrasting presentation of ales on a daily-changing basis.
Card-carrying CAMRA members will receive a discount. The Britannia is also offering special festival B&B rates. And don’t miss your chance to vote for your champion of champions.
