VISITORS to Bassenthwaite can now see four ospreys flying around the lake as this year’s chicks have now fledged.
The two juveniles are learning to fend for themselves.
Pete Barron of the Lake District Osprey Project, said: “Over the next few months the birds will gradually become increasingly independent.”
Visitors can get great views of the ospreys at the viewpoint at Dodd Wood, where staff and volunteers are on hand with telescopes from 10am to 5pm until September 4.
