BLONDIE has been announced as the headline act for this year's Kendal Calling festival in July.
The group, one of pop's greatest icons of New York's new wave and punk scene, including frontwoman Debbie Harry, are sure to wow festivalgoers at the Lowther Estate on Sunday, July 31.
Further headline acts lined up for the festival in an announcement this morning, Tuesday, included English four-piece indie rockers The Cribs (Friday) and electronic duo Chase and Status (Saturday) also performing.
Last year's festival saw 8,000 revellers descend on Lowther with top acts including Calvin Harris, The Subways and The Futureheads.
And with the names now out for this year's event, excitement is already starting to build.
Britpop legends Levellers as well as one of Britian's biggest DJ's Mr Scruff, will be heading to Lowther Estate, over the weekend of July 29-30, for the Lake District's award winning festival.
The Whip, Young Knives, Middleman, and Nero will perform in the Dance Tent.
Partygoers will also get to experience the amazing vocals of Beardyman - deemed by some as the 'King of Beatbox'. For any indie fans The Charlatans' lead singer Tim Burgess and guitarist Mark Collins are set to perform in an intimate acoustic gig.
The Calling Out (new music) stage, Glow Dance tent, Kaylied Tent (folk stage), and five other stages line-ups are still to be announced.
