A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after her car left the road near Kendal.
The incident occurred on the A6 near Selside at around 3.30pm on Thursday when a green Vauxhall Astra which was being driven by a 64-year-old woman from Lytham St. Anne’s came off the carriageway, flipped over and ended up on its roof in a field.
The woman was taken by air ambulance to Royal Lancaster Infirmary where her injuries were described as serious but not life threatening.
Police do not believe any other car was involved but are asking witnesses to call PC Martin Smith at Kendal Road Policing Unit on 0845-3300-247.
