There were winners crowned across six categories: Talent of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Sommelier of the Year, Sustainability Award, Innovation Award and Taste of Origin Award.

Mr Blackburn secured his award having impressed against a line-up of 10 fellow chefs.

He said: "I’m over the moon that The Old Stamp House has been recognised by JRE in what is their 50th anniversary year with the Innovation Award for 2024.

"The whole team aims to ensure that they deliver a truly memorable experience for every single guest who comes through the door and this award is testament to that hard work and professionalism.

"This year’s JRE Congress was without doubt much more than just an event; it was a total celebration of the unifying power of food and drink, honouring both innovation and tradition and it was a huge honour to participate in such a momentous occasion.’’
