POLICE have revealed why there was a multi-agency emergency response at Romney Bridge in Kendal last night.
A Cumbria Police spokesperson said: "Officers making enquiries in Kendal at about 5.30pm yesterday became aware of concerns for the welfare of a man, in his thirties, near the river.
"As part of a multi-agency response, officers were deployed to engage with the man. The incident was safely concluded at about 7.15pm."
Eyewitness reported seeing police vehicles and fire engines near Romney Bridge near Kirkbie Kendal School.
