FIRE crews attended and successfully extinguished a car fire on a major road shortly after it had spread to nearby woodland.
Both Ulverston fire engines were mobilised to a car fire on the A590 on Saturday, April 2.
At approximately 11.00am, the two fire crews were dispatched to the blaze.

Crews extinguished the fire using CAFS - Compressed Air Foam System - and also protected the surrounding woodland area that began to catch fire.
The carriageway was closed for a short period of time.
