A BODY has been found by a member of the public at a beauty spot.
North Yorkshire police asked for the Cave Rescue Organisations' assistance after a member of the public found the body at the foot of Malham Cove on Tuesday.
In a statement the Cave Rescue Organisation said: "Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Yorkshire Air Ambulance paramedics confirmed that life was extinct.
"With the necessary formalities over, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service firefighters and CRO members lifted the deceased onto a stretcher. CRO members then transported him to the village, to await more appropriate transport.
"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased."
