A MEMBER of a drug dealing gang called the ‘Joeys’ that sold heroin and crack cocaine in Barrow is currently on the run.

William Vincent Dodd is wanted by Merseyside Police after he was recalled to prison on 28 April.

Dodd, who is from Liverpool, was released from prison on 18 November 2019 after serving part of a prison sentence for conspiracy to supply drugs, but has since breached the conditions of his licence.

A statement from Merseyside Police said: “We are appealing for help in finding a Liverpool man who is wanted on recall to prison.

“Dodd, who was last known to be living in the Walton area, is described as a white male, 6ft tall, of slim build with dark brown hair and blue eyes.

“Anyone who has seen Dodd or knows of his whereabouts is asked to DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111."

In 2016, the 31-year-old was banned from entering Cumbria for five years after he was sentenced for Perverting the Course of Justice in connection with giving false identity details in custody.

However, Dodd defied this Protection of Harassment Order and officers proved he entered the region when he should have been carrying out his unpaid work and was later arrested by Cumbria’s South Area Drug Squad and the British Transport Police at his Fazakerley home in June 2017.

During the arrest, officers found Class A drug at his property, divided into individual street deals, mobile phones and paperwork connecting Dodd to Barrow drug users.

In September 2017, Dodd was jailed for four years and ten months after pleading guilty to the charge of Conspiracy to Supply Class A drugs.
