M6 blocked southbound due to lorry fire
All lanes are now re-open following an earlier lorry fire on the M6 southbound from Junction 42 (Carlisle South) to Junction 41 (Catterlen).
Smolke had been blowing across the road. Lane one was closed until 12.10pm. Lane two, which had bene closed, reopened around 10.10am.
Clean up work has been completed and the lorry has been removed from the scene.

Traffic had been held intermittently since around 07.35am and traffic was also briefly held on the opposite carriageway due to smoke.
