CARNFORTH people were urged to challenge cuts to local services during a meeting of the town's Labour Party.
Members spoke of their "determination that Carnforth should witness a more active style of local politics" and pledged that there would be a second litter pick in the Highfield Road area on May 21, following the first one held recently.
Concerns raised included cuts to bus services, run-down parks, threatened closures of Carnforth library and swimming pool, traffic congestion and hazards created by parked cars.
