FOLLOWING their return at Easter, a pair of ospreys nesting at Bassenthwaite are continuing to thrive, with female KL laying three eggs in six days.
Members of the Lake District Osprey Project (LDOP) confirmed a trio of eggs are now being looked after by the ospreys.
Footage from a nest camera confirmed the first egg was laid on April 12, with another following on April 15 and a third egg on April 17.
Jon Carter, of the LDOP, said: "We’re delighted that KL has laid three eggs again this year. She will incubate them for around 35-40 days before the chicks hatch, while the male brings in fish for her, so it is an ideal time for people to come to see these incredible birds from the viewing points at Dodd Wood or Whinlatter."
Osprey fans can keep an eye on the action by following the webcam on the LDOP homepage www.ospreywatch.co.uk, or at www.facebook.com/ospreywatch.
To watch the ospreys in action, visitors can join a dedicated team of LDOP staff and volunteers at the viewpoint at Dodd Wood every day from 10am to 5pm until the end of August, and at Whinlatter Visitor Centre every day from 10am 5pm, visitor can watch live images on televisions.
Since the LDOP began in 2001, the ospreys have nested successfully at Bassenthwaite every year, raising nearly 30 chicks, while over 1.5 million people have visited the project.
