POLICE are advising motorists to drive safely on the county’s roads following prolonged cold weather and a number of incidents over the weekend.
Roads at higher ground continue to be affected by the cold weather with snow and ice causing particular concern.
Kirkstone Pass, Wrynose Pass and Hardknott Pass are all closed.
Motorists need to be aware that there is a risk of black ice on the county’s roads so must slow down.
Those travelling have been urged to drive to the conditions of the road and take great care and attention.
