PASSENGERS in a car escaped during the early hours of today after it set on fire following a collision.
The incident happened just after midnight on Kendal Road, Windermere, said Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service.
The service said: "At 00.11 firefighters were called to a report of a car on fire after a collision on Kendal Road, Windermere.
"When they arrived crews found that there was a car fire. Everyone had managed to get out of the vehicle and so crews used two hose reel jets to put the fire out."
No further details were provided.
