A BODY found near a bridge yesterday morning (Friday January 24) has been formally identified as missing Cumbria man Allan Atkinson.
Police formally identified the body today (Saturday) and said members of Mr Atkinson's family have been informed and are being supported by officers.
Mr Atkinson's body was located in the water near Warwick Bridge, Carlisle, by a member of the public at 10.50am on Friday. The 60-year-old man, from Carlisle, had been missing since January 7.
Police say they are not treating his death as suspicious. The police have also thanked the media and the local community for their recent appeals.
