Cumbria Police have confirmed that a 15-year-old boy has died after a shooting near Broughton-in-Furness.
Officers were called to a farm at Ulpha yesterday at 11.17pm, where the boy had been shot.
He was with two men shooting on the farm, with permission of the owner.
The boy, who has not yet been identifiedwas taken to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.
A man, aged 35 from Barrow was arrested on suspicion of Grievous Bodily Harm and continues to help police with their enquiries.
The other man in his forties was not injured and has not been arrested. None of the people were related.
Police are supporting the boy's family at this time. It has been reported the boy is from the Millom area.
