THERE will be more than 50 real ales on offer – and lots of live music – at Rheged’s first beer festival being staged from Friday, August 29, to Sunday, August 31. There will be food too including the Penrith visitor centre’s own-make burgers, and lots of goodies in the ‘Taste’ foodhall. For details call Rheged on 01768-868000 or check out the website at www.rheged.com.

Meanwhile, the second Grasmere Guzzler Beer and Music Festival will be held in Tweedies Bar, at the Dale Lodge Hotel, in Grasmere, from September 5-7.

Admission is free. There will be more than 30 guest ales and ciders from local and national breweries, plus entertainment all weekend and a BBQ and hog roast.
