ORGANISERS of this year’s newly named Windermere Air Festival are promising a bigger and better event.
Kendal-based Bluestone Events, which took over the running of the two-day spectacular from the Rotary Club of Windermere, say there will be all the familiar family favourites and more.
There will be 16 breathtaking air displays – eight each day – a military village and flying simulator.
But also, for the first time, there will be new kids ‘have-a-go’ activities plus face-painting, circus skills, music and local food stalls.
Previously known as the Windermere Air Show, the event has been renamed the Windermere Air Festival to reflect the bigger range of entertainment and activities.
Kate Thomas, air festival director, said: “This year, people will find more fun than ever before – fantastic flying displays, lovely local food, competitions with cracking prizes and have-a-go activities for people of all ages, shapes and sizes.”
* The Windermere Air Festival takes place Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24 on the Glebe at Bowness. For more information log on to the website below.
