LAKES-based polar explorer Paul Rose, whose latest expedition saw him burying the ashes of an Antarctic hero, has another task in hand closer to home.

As the BBC docu-mentary tracing his journey to the icy grave of Sir Ernest Shackleton was screened, Paul was planning a trip to Windermere.

He is to give a talk about leading in extreme circumstances at an event organised by Tim Luke Consulting – a national training company based at Ayside, Cartmel – on Tuesday, March 27.

Managing director Tim Luke said: “Paul’s unique experience of managing people in some of the world’s most isolated locations makes him an ideal speaker.

“This is a taster day showing how Perfect Storm Training helps to address the com-munication challenges of remote working.

“Companies face significant motivational challenges as they strive to adapt strategies and structures to difficult trading conditions. We want to help business leaders think and communicate more clearly.”

It is hoped to attract around 50 business people – 12 of whom will take part in a ‘working under pressure’ exercise on a yacht prior to Mr Rose’s presentation at Storrs Hall Hotel.

Paul Rose’s BBC documentary followed an expedition to Antarctica to bury the recently discovered ashes of Frank Wild who, with his hero Shackleton, journeyed to the very ends of the earth.
