SCHOOL swimmers who train in Ulverston's 25-metre pool beat off competition from school teams with their ownpools to claim two gold and one silver medal in the Bazuka NationalPrimary Team Championships of England.
The girl's team fromOur Lady's Chetwynde School in Barrow completed the freestyle relay injust 58 seconds and won the medley relay race to claim two goldmedals.
The boy's team came second in one of their races andreceived silver medals.
The team of eight youngsters from theUlverston area and two from Barrow - was chosen to compete against 24 ofthe fastest teams in the country in Sheffield on Saturday after becomingthe Northern County Champions for 2001.
It is the seventhconsecutive year that teams from Chetwynde School have reached the finalssince they began in 1995.
Coach of the team Gail Whiteleysaid: "It has been a fantastic year for the swimming team and I am sureall the staff will agree it is a great honour to work withthem.
"We have been taking part in the competition ever sinceit began and we have always come away with something."
